A couple of weeks ago Ken was carrying some bird seed through the kitchen to the back porch. He bumped his head and somehow swung around and bumped the sliding glass doors with his rear and busted it into what looked like a million pieces.
Well we looked and called all over the place for another one and found out they don't make them anymore. We called a storm door and window place and had someone come out and discuss what he could do so we could have a doggie door for Patches and Daisy. We decided to add a storm door so we could open it in warm weather and still have a screen. We wanted the bottom to be clear so Patches could look out and watch for the squirrels. She sits a lot looking out that window.
Here is what we came up with. See Patches looking out the door? See my reflection in the door LOL?Now on to some more spring flowers.
I can't believe the forecast is calling for snow tonight. Seeing is believing LOL. Our Bartlett pear tree is full of buds and blooms already and the neighborhood has tulip trees blooming and blooming Bradford pear trees blooming.
I hope everyone has a good night and a blessed week next week. Helen
Your blooms are beautiful! We don't have anything at all like that yet. I hope you don't get the snow but I did here there were some who did. We are supposed to have rain and be in the 40's so that will save us from having snow again. The new door looks really nice. I hate it when they stop making replacements and new has to be had. It is a lot more expensive that way.
ReplyDeleteI love the new door! It's nice. Sorry Patches hasn't been doing well. I pray it's a thing of the past & now she will be fine. Snow?
ReplyDeleteIt's rough when your pet gets sick and you don't know if you'll be able to afford the vet; been there, done that.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking today about how you and Ken used to go fishing. I'll bet you miss those days.
Yeah, and betcha Ken wasn't all that happy either!!
ReplyDeleteGreat replacement thought. But your bloom/flower pictures are great close ups. Love 'em.
Nah it is a joke, no snow!!!!!! I hope...
Take care Helen, yeah we saw your reflection! Good thing you were dressed!!!!
Love from SC,
Sherry & Jack
Your door looks very nice. The flowers are beautiful. We have some bradford pears in our neighborhood blooming. We have one flower and a lot of buds on a camellia (at least that is what I think it is), I put a pic of the bloom on my blog. Our daylilies are sprouting green leaves but no blooms yet. I hope Patches doesn't have any more spells. Take care, Sheila
ReplyDeletePoor Patches. I really hope she will be all right.
ReplyDeleteAt least she can enjoy looking out her new door! My two love to keep an eye on everything going on outside too.
The door looks great and little Patches is so cute looking out. Prayers for Patches that she does not have another attack..it had to be scary to see her like that..but if prayers work, she will be fine. The flowers are so pretty...love them. Snow...on my! I hope it doesn't materialize at all. We have rain still coming our way...not here yet but soon they say. Hope your week goes well and you and Ken have a peaceful week. Love, Joyce
ReplyDeleteThe new door is great, I love it. I do hope Patches will be o.k. could it be mild epilepsy, dogs can get it. Well, hope not, fingers crossed. The blooms are lovely, I especiall like that pink Daffodil.
ReplyDeleteLove the flowers. I hope Patches is going to be OK. it does sound like some sort of seizure. Give her a hug from me.
ReplyDeleteHi Helen,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, we're thinking of a doggie door too. Can critters get in?? Sorry to hear about Patches. SAME thing happened to our dog shanti and it freaked us out. Vet couldn't figure it out either. Hope it never happens again for you or us!
Gorgeous flowers....as always.
Hugs,
Nancy
Sorry Patches is under the weather. It is so hard because they cannot tell what is wrong. I hope it all turns out well. I like the new storm door and window project. You have some lovely Daffodils Helen. The peach double bloom is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteGee, snow won't do the pear tree in blossom much good will it? Let us hope they weren't serious, although I am afraid these forecasts are more accurate now days than one wishes sometimes. Interesting door problem but looks like your solution is going to work fine. Always something to fix, isn't there on the property or the animals or ourselves!
ReplyDeleteWell let me try this again and say I hope Patches is okay.
ReplyDeleteHope Patches and the Big Boy are ok...bummer but a cute fix. Lovely daffodils and oh to be able to grow a pear tree. Have a warm spring
ReplyDeleteBlessYou
I so love that new door! Also the new big door! Your flowers are fabulous as always, it's a joy to come to your blog and see the amazing pictures you have! I hope Patches feels better very soon! xx Merry
ReplyDeletewow somehow I missed this post!.. love the photo's as always helen!! good reflection photo !! the daffodils are gorgeous! I hope the prediction didn't happen and kill all the pretty spring flowers!
ReplyDeleteI am glad Ken is fine and that the door was protected with safetyglass. Poor Pathches having some problems. Hopefully she will be OK and might have a pinched nerve. I am going to go outside in the warmer weather after the cold rain for days. It is clouding up. I can't sit and concentrate with back pain. Getting outside and first walking Salty and then putting him in his pen, then I will do work on my home taking my mind off of constant pain. The photo's are very nice. Mark/Salty
ReplyDeleteI do hope that Patches has nothing serious and will be alright.
ReplyDeleteThese flowers are beautiful. They cheer me up instantly after reading about Patches.
Have a wonderful spring!
Hope Patches gets better! Great flower picks, Helen, and the new door is tops!
ReplyDeleteJimmy
good morning Helen! Hope Patches is feeling lots better and those spells are behind her. Love your new door and bet the animals do too.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to get something for the sliding door replacement. As for your dog, our last one would have spells, but she would get a glazed over look about her eyes, and kind of stiffen up a little, then just as quick as it came, it left. Our vet thought she might be having epileptic seizures. Said if she started having them a lot, they could give her some kind of a pill to take everyday, but it would make her very relaxed and not wanting to do much. She was a little fox terrier and high strung to begin with, but we didn't want her to be doped up all the time either. Before we had her put to sleep, she was starting to have them more often.
ReplyDeleteHope Patches is feeling better. Daisy needs her best buddy around to enjoy some life in Bama... Glad Ken wasn't hurt seriously or anything. God Bless you and yours...
ReplyDeleteMik
HELEN, THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS.
ReplyDeleteA LIGHT SNOW THIS TIME OF YEAR SHOULD NOT KILL THE PEAR BLOOMS.
I HOPE THE DOG HAS NO MORE PROBLEMS.
WAS HAPPY TO SEE YOUR POST AND HOPING YOU AND KEN ARE HEALING. sam
I do hope Patches is not in some serious trouble and she gets better sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear from you again. The flowers and your new door are so beautiful. I know you love your little dog, I hope that doesn't happen again. Your photos are always so good. Happy Easter, Helen.
ReplyDeleteYour new doors look very nice. Patches I'm sure appreciates hers. I do hope Patches health levels out so that everything turns out nice and healthy. Thank you for your comment yesterday. It was so nice to see your name there again.
