Doctors, dogs and other things LOL

Hello everybody, I went back to the eye Doc Monday and the pressure is down ten points in the eye that he did laser on from what it was two weeks earlier. He wants to wait a while to do the cataract surgery in the other eye. I go back in three months for another pressure check but meanwhile I have to stay on the drops twice a day to keep the pressure down.
It has been thundering around today but only a sprinkle of rain here so far. There were tornado warnings out about midway of the state. I hope no bad weather comes through here. We live on the NE side of it.

We went to Walmarts this morning to get a few things and when I went back to the car Ken took the buggy and put it back in place. When we got home my purse was nowhere to be found. He took off back to Walmarts and someone had turned it in to the desk. I had left it in the buggy. It was hard to believe no one had bothered anything in it.

I saw Patches all curled up asleep on the back of the couch asleep this morning so I got my camera but she keeps an eye on that camera and had already stretched out some when I came back. She likes to get on back of the couch so that is why the old sheet stays there.

The neighbors have been seeing an Opossum on their porch where they keep their dogs food out. She wanted Ken to see if he could catch it so here it is. He relocated it close to some woods. It was hard to get a picture of it because when I got where I could see it's face it would turn around and hide it's face. He will reset the trap and see if he catches anymore.

Have a blessed afternoon everyone. Helen

  2. Misty & Oreo love to sleep on the back of the couch, just like Patches. I think they like to be up high - kings & queens of the castle!

I'm glad you could "relocate" the opossum. You see them squished in the road too often.

Good news that the pressure in your eye is down. I hope it continues for you.

  3. I am happy for the possum. I hope he eat and leaves in time to avoid being caught again or worse.

I really like your beautiful dog.

  4. Just when you think everyone is bad in the world, some nice person turns your purse in. Thanks, I needed that story. Diana

  5. You were blessed to have your purse turned in and nothing missing out of it. I had that happen just once and all I ever found was an empty purse and had to replace the drivers license and all.

My beagle used to love to sit up on the back of the couch or chair and look out the window like yours does too.

Glad they eye is better. That is wonderful news.

Don't know what happened but the system has been dropping off.
Hope the eye pressure keeps improving.

  9. Wow, you were lucky. It is hard to believe these days that someone did not make off with your purse.
Possums can be mean if you confront them.Hope it stays away.

  10. Doesn't it do your heart good to know there are still some good people our there? I'm so glad you got your purse back. Even if you didn't have much money in it, it is a hassle to lose your cards and things. My purse was taken from me in my own drive-way in San Antonio one time. I was up all night trying to remember what all was in it.

  11. Glad you got your purse back with everything in it. That was a lucky break and another lucky photo shot to catch that 'possum. Hope the eyes do okay with drops. My BIL has his surgery to stop the leaking in his eye that is blurring his vision, but he has to keep his head down as much as he can, or it will not do the job. He won't know for two weeks if he kept it down enough! My sister will be waiting on him hand and foot. Good to hear from you.

  12. Great to read about your life. Sorry you have eye troubles, I have yet to face my cataract surgeries. I do have some serious things not right with my neck and pains up and down one arm. It's not the doctor's fault. I live in denial. I am so afraid of another trip to the neuro, more surgery, I am the worlds biggest chicken. You have a lot of strength, Helen as does your husband and your daughter. Thanks for keeping me up to date on your life happenings. xxox Merry

  18. HI HELEN,
BACK DURING THE GREAT DEPRESSION WE ONCE BAKED A POSSUM.
SOME RELATIVES WERE COMING FROM A GREAT DISTANCE AWAY AND INTENDED TO STAY A FEW DAYS.
THEY WERE NOT MY DAD'S FAVORITE RELATIVES, ON MOTHER'S SIDE. SO DAD CAUGHT A BIG FAT POSSUM AND CAGED IT UNTIL THE RELATIVES ARRIVED AND SOON HAD THE POSSUM BAKING IN THE OLD WOOD BURNING KITCHEN RANGE.

A BROTHER IN LAW OF DAD ASKED, DO YOU FOLKS REGULARLY EAT POSSUM ? OH SURE, IT IS NOT BAD FOOD ONCE YOU GET USED TO IT.

NEEDLESS TO SAY, THOSE FOLKS CUT SHORT THEIR VISIT AND OUR DOGS DID EAT SOME OF THE POSSUM. I TASTED IT AND WAS REAL GREASY DARK COLORED FROM BAKING. ONE TASTE WAS SUFFIECENT.

SOMETHING I MIGHT ADD, A CUSTOM OF DAD's THAT I COULD NEVER UNDERSTAND, WHEN COMPANY CAME, AT MEALTIME THE CHILDREN WAITED UNTIL THE ADULTS FINISHED EATING.

THE DAY WITH POSSUM AS THE MAIN DISH WE DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT LONG. sam

  19. I liked Sam's story of the "posum". Getting your purse back intact was truly a act of honesty by someone, and makes faith in fellow citizen's renewed. I am glad your eye is progressing now and hope your vison continues to get better. Also, that Mira continues improvement and can regain function and bending with therapy. I know her disc was reported to have been damaged by infection, and now must heal or have more medical therapy. I am taking it easy today with it being almost ready to rain....I just looked outside and it really started coming down after days of raining to the south and around the Carbondale area but not here. Salty got some Frontline pest control as he sleeps right next to me on his big pillow on the floor. Frontline controls biting mites I read. If my ear itching can be helped it is worth it, and having him on the Frontline is a good thing for him. Cheaper products have been reported to injure pets I saw on TV. I have such much more time consuming work to be done before winter installing siding. I will do my best and thats all I can do. Mark/Salty
