  10. Thank you, Helen, for your kind comments on my own blog: TOM'S JOURNAL. i just called my wife, Sharon, and she says that she is already feeling better-- for draining the fluids in her body at the hospital.

  20. Well, the turkey is almost gone. So are the pies. I heard we are going to have turkey mixed in Heinz Turkey Gravy over toast for lunch. This kind of meal will continue until the turkey is gone, gone, gone.

  21. I wish you and your family a good after Thanksgiving rememberance. I recall the Thanksgivings we had when our big family was together and sometimes it was at my Aunt and Uncle's farm. An old farm house with one room that had sliding doors that seperated it from the house. It was the dining room, or special room as in days of old. The house had a porch running around it and very narrow stairs going upstairs to two small bedrooms only. My cousin Billy was in one room and his parents in the other. There had to be one more room for Sherry when they all lived there when we were children. There was a big old kitchen, and then a parlor, or living room. Other years we had Thanksgiving in Peoria IL or in Joliet IL where my family lived. I shared a very nice dinner this year with my neighbors family. mark/salty

  23. Just wanted to tell you that I am slowly getting the cat, Baby Kitty, to do things on his own. It used to be a real chore for somebody to get him cornered and pick him up and put him in his cage for the night. It was a job I couldn't do as I can't breathe if I bend over so I just talked to him and got two or three treats and told him to follow me. He did, finally, and I gave him the treats when he got in the cage. Now, when it is bedtime, sometimes he goes in the cage by himself, but anybody can walk with him at bedtime and he goes in the cage. I think he is a smart cat and I brush him each day and give him a treat now and then. He has taught me a lot I didn't know about cats.
