Just a few words

I haven't updated in a few day so thought I would do a post.
Everyone is doing about like usual. Except I have been having some serious back problems this week. This to shall pass or get a tad better in time. Ken still has problems with his eyes and I am still have some problems with mine also.
My daughter goes back to Birmingham AL Mon on her birthday to get another heart checkup. I hope he reduces her meds because she is so tired all the time. She does put some long hours in at school. She has to stay late about every night getting lesson plans up and so forth. I am glad to say her back is getting more in line now. That staph infection had left her walking with one hip higher that the other one. It has taken time but they are slowing getting more in line. She no longer has to use the pole Ken made her for rising and walking. I thank God for that.

My son had been having Mini strokes before Christmas and has been on blood thinners which has helped a lot. He is back at work now and doing better. He never let us know he was in the hospital for 4 days. Didn't want us to worry he said. I like to know though when my family gets sick so I can send up prayers for them.
Well these two girls here keep Ken and me laughing a lot.
I ask them, " do you girls want to go outside?" They both hit their doggy door running to see who can get out first. Patches screams and barks so loud a person would think I was kicking her to make her go LOL. Then they go racing across the yard to stay for a while smelling things out. So funny. Then when they get back inside they sit on a rug in front of their treat table waiting for a treat. I need to get a picture of some of that at least.
Well here is a picture of them not related to that. They are waiting to go to bed LOL. They like that old worn out spread wadded up, they scratch and root and pull with it with  their teeth it till they get it just right. It is very soft and they love it. They will not sleep in their beds anymore.

I hope everyone has a good Friday and a blessed weekend.
Helen

  2. I'm so sorry to hear that your back is hurting. I do hope you are feeling some relief soon. I laughed about your son not telling you he was in the hospital. Sounds like my family. My dad was in the hospital for a day or 2 with a head injury before my mom told me! She wanted to make sure he was going to be ok first, as she didn't want me to worry too much.

Patches & Daisy sound like Misty & Oreo when we say "outside?" It must be the best word to dogs....second to "dinner" that is.

  5. It's amazing how a dog can make a person's day! Even on these long, drab winter days, Sadie makes me laugh out loud many times. I hope you get to feeling better. My eyes are bothering me this winter for some reason. They itch and burn; I keep a bottle of Murine handy and use it often.

  9. Love that last picture of Patches and Daisy. Something about it makes you feel good. Their ears look almost alike.
Sorry for all the medical problems. Especially Ken's eyes.
About the staph infection, it is wierd what that can do to a body. Glad she is able to get up and down now without the help of the stick.
TAke care and you all have our prayers.
    Love from down here,

  10. Hi Helen, I wish I could wave a magic wand and make your back pain and Ken's eye problems go away, but I can't so I'll continue to pray for you. I'm so glad your daughter is doing better and that your son is better. Your doggies look so cute lying together. Hubby brought home a cold last weekend and we all caught it...ha. But it's not as bad as some colds so I'll be thankful for that...Have a great weekend, Sheila

  11. I hate to hear you and your family have so many health problems but it is good to see you post here. I was just thinking of you recently and that you hadn't posted lately. I'm lucky my back doesn't hurt sitting but getting up is another subject. Doggies are sooo cute.

  12. I got a kick out of hearing about your dogs' behavior. Raised on a farm, I am always very interested in what they do. I love hearing about what Baby does, my son Raymond's very smart dog. Catching up with your family and you and Ken and health problems is always of interest, too. On the answers you gave on the other entry, I noted that you looked forward to being reunited in heaven with family and friends. That takes a lot of faith and I think meditation and thinking about our complete life cycle. Now days so many seem to have lost this ability. Doc and I argue about it, but he is not living in a healthy enough way to 'see.' So I always enjoy reading your entries as you seem like a person with an admirable attitude.

  14. May your and Ken's health heal soon. I also hope that your daughter and son have the best healing possible. I enjoyed seeing the photos of both your dog's and the story of their excitement at going outside. I have Salty schedualed for his teeth and cleaning and possible extraction. He has one cracked tooth, and others to be X-rayed. I will from now on being using a tooth gel and brushing which I hope I can acomplish. I have never brushed my dog's teeth before on my previous dogs. Salty is about 7 years old now and pulls like a 'mule' when I walk him daily. We walk as many times as possible and I count the number of back and forth feet of my lane trying to make my 2 mile exercise since my back surgery was recommended I do life long. It snowed here yesterday and last night about 7 inches and is only in the low 20's right now. My woodburner kept going all night but was down to little wood this morning. It is really warmed up inside now and comfortable. mark/salty

  23. I've so missed you and your blog. Stopping by to say hello. Came through your way yesterday. Too bad I didn't have your phone # programmed in my cell. I could have at least said hello. Sorry to hear about all the health issues with everyone. Will certainly send all of you up in my prayers. I got to meet Terrie Graham and Celeste Sanders yesterday from J-Land. First time I have ever actually gotten to meet any of my J-Land friends personally. It was great!

  24. Sending prayers for all of you, I can understand why you want your son to let you know when he's in hospital. I'm sure you'll be worrying about him the whole time now. I hope Mira can get her meds reduced. Patches and Daisy Mae look like they've found the comfiest place in the house! Jeannette xx

  27. I hope things go well with your daughter. A school day is long and demanding and takes much energy to get through it. Also let's hope your back settles soon and gives you no more trouble.
With spring on the way that's the time to be mending and being outdoors enjoying all the gifts that nature gives to us. Vest wishes also for your sons continued good heslth, stroke free.
