This one could hardly keep it's balance, It's wings were

continuously fluttering. I almost didn't get a still picture,

This is the way I feel, about gone.

Have a blessed afternoon everyone, Helen

  2. Our butterflys have been gone for a few weeks now as we had a really cold spell. Today I saw another huge flock of birds migrating south. They say we're going to have a very cold winter in Ohio. Thanks for sharing the lovely pictures. They sure do brighten my day.

  4. Still beautiful pictures, but thou shouldn't feel about gone! Best to you and hope things look up. (Don't talk about half gone!!!)

A friend told me he knew a photographer who put the butter fly in a refrigerator to lower it's body temp, then place it on a flower to take the picture. Good idea, but it is sorta cheating, huh?

  5. Helen what pretty pictures of the butterflies. They are about gone here too. I saw an all yellow one today when out mowing leaves but it took off before I could get the camera.Shucks. They really enjoy the zinnias don't they. I have got to find a way to grow the things. Seeding direct doesn't work for me maybe I need to start some indoors this winter and try them that way.
I like to have flowers around that the butterflies enjoy.

  7. I am always amazed at them still being able to fly. I saw a Monarch here yesterday after the freezing weather we have had searing for some flower left with nectar and it found one. I just hope he gets to where he is going before he runs out of flowers.

Patty has her 73rd birthday today. My wife for the past 54 years has a blog. If you have time, take a look and say hi. Old Lady Lincoln

  8. The pear leaves are different than other leaves in texture and have a beautiful look. The butterflys' are wonderfull. I downloaded Mozilla/Firefox but am still using my AOL main page. I got rid of a generic toolbar that was starting my Internet connection without me wanting me. McAfee caught it by running my scan and I deleted it. Also I ran my XP cleanup and defrag. I will experiment with the Mozilla/Firefox browser. Thanks for the advice. Mark/Salty

  9. You are truly blessed Helen to have butteflies and birds like this where you live. Ours are drab by comparison because of the climate. Sorry to hear about Ken. Hope the laser treatment will work again. Will be keeping you both in prayer.

  13. Goodness sakes, I hope you are not about gone. And there is still another season in store for you, but I get feeling that way once in a while, too! Lovely photos as usual. I don't see butterflies often so glad to take a look at these. We have hummingbirds in our backyard though, but I am not fast enough to get a photo of them.

  17. Happy Anniversary and it sounds as if you aren't feeling well. I'm sorry about that. If you're back hurts you never feel well, do you? As everyone said the butterflies are pretty. Prettier then the ones in my radiator and on my windshield.

  19. Thanks for the birthday wishes. I to am a diabetic, according to my family doctor, I'm suppose to watch my diet, so far I don't have to take any medication. But I don't listen too well. I do try to drink plenty of water, he said that helps flush it out of the system and also he told me walking is good.

  22. Happy Anniversary Helen and Ken!!
It says a lot about the guy when he's got health issues too and both you and Ken still find beauty in this world and celebrate what's good about it. The pictures you take. The highs and lows in sharing your life and that of your family. But the kicker is that the president of the Helen fan club came on here to publicly declare he loves you. And you loving him... It's refreshing to see such goodness in a wacky world! And the butterfly backdrop is perfect...

    God Bless you and yours!
